We are less than week away from International Women's Day (IWD) on Monday March 8th and this year's theme is #ChooseToChallenge✋🏾. It actually feels like that is all we have been doing recently, managing the challenges of COVID-19. For women, challenge is constant and we must not give up on our drive to stand tall and be heard for all our achievements inside and out of the workplace. We must strive to call out stereotypes linked to gender, race and inequality. Your voice is important! ❤️
This month I want to share the incredible women who have and continue to inspire me. Starting with Amanda Gorman for her amazing spoken word at Joe Biden’s inauguration, setting a phenomenal standard & inspiring young girls and women globally. To Andra Day for winning the best actress award at the Golden Globes for her role as the incredible Billie Holiday. To the community of small businesses headed by women like myself, who strive to nurture and grow their venture in this new world of business. Most importantly, the women who have showed up daily as front line workers across the world. Their dedication to taking care of patients and families throughout this ongoing pandemic will be unforgettable ✨
We as women are strong and sometimes even stronger in our vulnerability!
My affirmation card of focus this month is "I Am ... Powerful" ! "Never underestimate your power. Own your power and step out unapologetically" 💫
Sistas let's continue to challenge and make a positive impact on gender assumptions, stereotypes and inequalities!
